About

When you come to Pine Valley Mountain, you’ll have tons of things to see and do. Fishing is a popular hobby here, as are hiking and camping. You’ll have amazing views everywhere you look and tons of stunning nature to lose yourself in. Plus, here’s a fun fact: Pine Valley is a laccolith, an intrusion of magma between rock layers. It’s the biggest in the country!

The last updates on this park were made in 2010, so things are pretty up to date here, and the park will still accommodate all the latest conveniences. Some parts of the visitor’s center also have free Wi-Fi.

Hiking

If you’re a true hiker at heart and can stand the elevation, then you ought to check out hiking Signal Mountain. This mountain hails as one of the most scenic summits in the whole of the state. Most of the hiking here in this area just so happens to conveniently interconnect with the Summit Trail, following the formation and curvature of the overall Pine Valley Mountain structure as a whole. You can make your hike as long or short as you please.

Fishing

Here in this area, you can either river fish or stream fish. One of the best places you can walk-in fish during open hours would be none other than the amazing Leeds Creek, found right in the heart and center of the Oak Grove Campground. If you have a little more time to spend here, you should also check out the nearby Santa Clara Creek, which is situated right in the Dean Gardner Campground. Overall, these two creeks are a fisherman’s true delight!

Winter Activities

Are you visiting in the winter? There’s still plenty to experience at Pine Valley Mountain. One of the very best activities that you could do in this area is geocaching. Perhaps you hold a somewhat valuable piece of treasure or recent find and would like to hide it for someone else to find it, giving them all the clues as to where it might be spotted on any GPS map. This is ideal for true scouts and explorers alike, and many have already done it. Winter is the best time of the year to hide something well and plan a search or create a game around finding it.
